VIEW CHURCH PLANT RESIDENCY POSITION

Community of Hope Church in Columbia City, IN has entered into a partnership with Assist Church Expansion for the purpose of creating a Church Plant Residency that will culminate in a new church plant in Fort Wayne, IN. Community of Hope is a vibrant church that is committed to help lost, broken and wounded people find hope and healing in Jesus. They have a vision to extend this mission into the city of Fort Wayne, IN by planting a church in that area within the next 3 years.

Why Plant a Church in Ft. Wayne? Here are 6 great reasons to get behind this opportunity…

1. Mother Church committed to planting a daughter church

Community of Hope in Columbia City, IN. The church has been praying for Fort Wayne as a place to plant and even has key families living in the target area. The church is ready to invest in a resident as a major ministry initiative with time, training, and finances!

2. Emerging Core Team in the Target Area

One of the elders of Community of Hope lives in this area and has been garnering prayer and engagement in the community to see a new church reaching families!

3. Fort Wayne is a crucial city in the region

The community was again among the fastest-growing metro areas in the Great Lakes region in 2021. For the region, Fort Wayne is the “place to go” and has the infrastructure and affordability to continue to grow. Spiritually, getting a “beachhead“ with a vibrant church in this city provides opportunities for the Gospel to spread and for even more expansion and church planting.

4. No Charis Fellowship church in Ft. Wayne

Despite the Fellowship’s strong history in Northern Indiana and the proximity of Charis churches, there is currently not a member church in Fort Wayne. The closest church is Community of Hope in Columbia City.

5. Bolster the Heartland district in a collaborative church plant initiative

Opportunities for the district churches within a drivable distance to support this work with human and financial resources, plus the strong Fellowship presence in the area could begin the momentum of church multiplication again.

6. Church planting is one of the most effective ways of evangelism

Above all, people need Jesus in this community and church planting energy and effort are great ways to reach them.
